Job Summary
Manage multiple large, complex projects from notice of award through mobilization, establishing budgets and contract prices while negotiating cost-effective subcontract and material purchases. Implement job procedures to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery, keeping projects on schedule. Develop safety and QAQC plans with department heads, maintain accurate reporting, and supervise documentation of significant events like accidents and change orders. Direct preconstruction services, negotiate bid packages, and support estimating staff to avoid or mitigate claims. Manage and train the project team, organize regular management and subcontractor meetings, and review contract conditions for compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering or Construction Management degree or equivalent experience
- Field construction management experience (8-10 years, including supervisory skills)
- Leadership ability
- Problem-solving ability and strong sense of urgency
- Organizational and communication skills
- Drafting and computer skills
- Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
- Thorough understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement and estimating)
- Regular in-office presence in San Diego, CA or remote to start with regular in-office presence in Denver, CO
