Job Summary
Senior Preconstruction Manager leads estimate/bid processes, acts as Bid Captain on negotiated bids, builds relationships with owners and subcontractors, tracks project budgets, prepares qualifications for contracts, oversees preconstruction schedules, assists in training staff, manages risk and safety programs, maintains project documentation, represents McCarthy at meetings, participates in prequalification and responses to RFPs/RFQs, and supports buyout/logs and chart of accounts with a focus on delivering value in preconstruction activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering
- 7-10 years of applicable estimating, design management and/or field management experience
- In-depth knowledge of construction principles/practices
- Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work
- Experience leading successful team ventures, including the development of employees and maintaining relationships with external entities and subcontractor community
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and influence a wide variety of audiences
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with McCarthy core values while maintaining a "value added" approach to preconstruction
