Job Summary

Support development and implementation of strategic group priorities by managing work streams and initiatives for the Alternative Asset Opportunities Practice Group. Serve as the point of contact for daily operations, including preparing substantive meetings and identifying efficiency improvements in matter management and infrastructure. Partner with leadership on lateral partner onboarding plans, coordinate external marketing opportunities, and draft legal ranking submissions. Collaborate with Finance to analyze performance metrics and track practice budgets while monitoring market trends for key stakeholders. Mentor junior team members and drive operational solutions across Business Development, Marketing, and Knowledge Management.

Required Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in a law firm, professional services firm or other corporate environment
  • Goal-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude and a collaborative working style
  • Excellent oral communication and business writing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish credibility with Ropes & Gray partners
  • The right mix of confidence, tact and persistence in working with the firm's lawyers and professional staff in a multi-office environment
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills
  • The ability to develop project plans and set deadlines to meet business objectives
  • The ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • The ability to anticipate, identify and solve problems
  • The ability to work independently, take initiative, and make decisions using sound judgment
  • The ability to compile, review, analyze and determine logical conclusions or recommendations based on data and information that is varied in context, content and format
  • The ability to contribute to the training and supervision of entry level team members
  • A demonstrated ability to effectively use technology, database, presentation, spreadsheet, document management and other software applications
  • Hybrid on-site presence
