Senior Power Systems Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct high-level bulk power system studies using software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA. Lead and mentor electrical engineers in performing steady state, short circuit, and dynamic stability analyses, including specialized Sub-synchronous Resonance studies. Develop mitigation plans for identified constraints, review transmission planning methodologies, and interact with clients to address project needs. Lead process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency while ensuring timely project completion against quality and budget objectives. Support business development activities and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electric Engineering
- 5+ years professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer performing power system impact studies such as Dynamic Stability, Load Flow, Steady State, Short Circuit
- Experience with power systems software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA
- Location: This position is remote based in the US
- Travel: Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
Desired Qualifications
- emphasis in power systems preferred
- Experience automating/programming in Python preferred
- Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation
