Job Summary
Conduct power systems modelling, signal processing, and machine learning analysis to support new product development and ensure full delivery of existing solutions. Own technical projects implementing power system monitoring and operations technologies while interfacing with TSOs and DNOs to validate product relevance. Apply deep technical knowledge of power systems to address challenges in oscillations, low inertia, and system strength within smart grid environments. This R&D role focuses on delivering innovative energy solutions for a global company driving a sustainable, resilient energy ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
- PSSE or PSCAD
- Python
- Deep technical knowledge of power systems
- Scoping, delivery or operation of Grid, Utility or Energy Services
- Research and development
- PMUs - Oscillations
- WAMS
- Experience in costing and tendering response related work
- PhD in electrical engineering or Masters degree
Desired Qualifications
- Oscillations, low inertia, high ROCOF and system strength challenge
- Client-facing role in addition to any operational roles
- Smart grid technologies from a DSO or TSO environment
