Job Summary
Conduct detailed electrical analysis utilizing time domain techniques to evaluate system performance, focusing on Transient Over-Voltage, Transient Recovery Voltage, and Switching Studies. Perform complex calculations for insulation coordination and develop innovative solutions to optimize system performance and mitigate risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise while preparing comprehensive reports documenting findings and design modifications. Lead others in applying modern tools, automation, and AI to improve workflows and reduce rework. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulations relevant to time domain analysis.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (background in Power/Power Systems)
- 7 or more years of experience in time domain analysis of power systems
- Proficiency in utilizing software tools such as PSCAD or EMTP-RV to perform complex electrical calculations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering
- Sufficient industry experience in lieu of an advanced degree
Desired Qualifications
- Minor, certificate, or other experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that enables effective oversight of automation and agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows
