Senior Policy and Compliance Officer

Lead and shape policy reform and regulatory compliance across the Education and Students Portfolio. Provide high-level analysis, advice, and written communications to ensure alignment with evolving legislative and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with academic and professional staff to support implementation of policy priorities and governance initiatives, including developing a curriculum policy framework and monitoring regulatory changes. Responsibilities include coordinating policy review and reform projects, drafting new/amending policies and procedures, producing committee papers, briefings, presentations, and strategic reports, and supporting compliance/governance projects overseeing policy quality and strategic decision-making. Requirements include demonstrated capability in policy development/reform, translating requirements into internal guidelines, experience in higher education or large public organisations, understanding of curriculum structures, and the ability to provide high-level regulatory advice to senior stakeholders. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (or equivalent experience) are required.
