Job Summary
Senior Policy Analyst for UnidosUS will serve as a subject-matter expert supporting the Education Policy Project. The role shapes and advances federal and state advocacy on higher education, focusing on accountability, value of postsecondary programs, protecting students from low-quality or predatory offerings, and ensuring credentials lead to gainful employment and economic mobility. Responsibilities include leading analyses of higher education policy issues, producing policy documents (issue briefs, white papers, regulatory comments, congressional testimony), representing UnidosUS in forums and meetings with policymakers and stakeholders, organizing policy forums and coalitions, carrying out communications to build support for education priorities, and managing projects from conception to completion with adherence to timelines and reporting requirements. The position is hybrid, based in Washington, DC, with in-office presence required two days per week (Tuesdays in-office). Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, 3-5 years of policy experience in higher education, strong policy development and advocacy skills, and a demonstrated ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, experience with higher education datasets, bilingual English/Spanish abilities, and strong writing and presentation skills. The role involves occasional travel (<10%), collaboration across research, communications, and external partners, and a commitment to UnidosUS’s mission.
