Senior Plumbing Designer

Job Summary
Generate detailed plumbing schematics, conduct independent job site surveys, and analyze project intent to propose design solutions and installation sequencing. Convert field data into usable formats for plan development, select replacement equipment sizing, and use AutoCAD to develop plans. Coordinate outsourced engineering resources, determine utility incentives, prepare permit documents, perform load calculations, and manage junior engineers and drafters. Respond to plan check comments, redline markups for pipe routing, and refine standard design practices for future projects. Manage projects from schematic design through construction while supporting the Mesa Energy Systems Engineering Group across commercial, industrial, government, healthcare, and education markets.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of engineering and design experience
- Be proficient with Permitting submittal requirements in the Plumbing field
- Computer savvy, with advanced knowledge of computers and handling software
- Proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other related software applications
- Developed understanding of plumbing systems and specifications
- Manage projects from Schematic Design though Construction
- Water heater sizing for storage and instantaneous gas and electric systems
- Experience with OSHPD/HCAI
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred but not required
- EIT/PE licensure a plus
- experience with self contained and split system heat pumps water heater preferred
- Medical gas experience preferred
