Job Summary
Senior Plumbing & Fire Protection Design Manager responsible for directing plumbing and fire protection system designs, leading design division operations, coordinating with internal mechanical/electrical teams and clients to ensure seamless system integration, mentoring and developing design staff, managing full project lifecycle from site surveys and system selection to construction administration (including shop drawing reviews and field observations), and ensuring compliance with building codes and life-safety standards while delivering high-performance, cost-effective engineering solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Active PE license preferred
- 8+ years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design
- Lead Designer or supervisory experience 2+ years
- AutoCAD proficiency
- Revit proficiency
- Microsoft Office proficiency for project management and reporting
- Experience managing multiple projects within the AEC industry
- CPD (Certified Plumbing Designer) or NICET certifications are a plus
- Knowledge of Florida Building Codes and South Florida design standards
