Job Summary
Build and maintain Braze's internal Infrastructure as a Service platform, defining IaaS production environments and developing embedded frameworks for large-scale distributed processing. Design software that powers asynchronous background systems, evolving Sidekiq-based tools to reliably execute trillions of jobs daily while managing scaling behavior, failure modes, and operational safety. Provide opinionated abstractions and tooling that enable application teams to use distributed processing safely without managing underlying complexity. Improve observability and operational ergonomics for job-processing systems, then manage incidents via PagerDuty rotation to respond to availability issues and prevent future outages. Use retrospectives to turn lessons into system improvements and automation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience
- Experienced in working on large-scale API-driven systems
- Experienced in application and systems observability
- Experience in building/automating Kubernetes-based operators/custom resources
