Job Summary
Senior Platform Engineer responsible for building and governing cloud foundation as code across development, test, and production; own reliable, secure, and observable delivery pipelines; provide production visibility through monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing; establish a defensible security posture across identity, network segmentation, secrets, and workload hardening in a regulated context; ensure resilient, highly available infrastructure with failover strategies; support modern data services and AI-enabled applications; leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to reduce toil and speed troubleshooting with sound operational judgment; role reports into the infrastructure group and collaborates closely with software engineering on architecture decisions; location-focused on Washington, DC or New York metro with a hybrid work model.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with a major public cloud (compute, networking, identity, security, storage)
- Infrastructure as code (IaC) governance
- Linux systems administration for production workloads
- Experience designing and operating delivery pipelines for distributed or containerized applications
- Experience with enterprise observability tooling
- Scripting ability (JVM languages or Python)
- Familiarity with JVM-based application environments and distributed NoSQL data platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain tradeoffs to technical and non-technical audiences
