Job Summary
Senior Platform Engineer at Rise8 responsible for creating and implementing automated configuration and deployment processes to enhance platform performance and management; establishing and managing administrator and service accounts with documentation; developing self-service capabilities within PaaS using scripting; collaborating with developers to diagnose and troubleshoot issues; taking operational responsibility for services; championing AI-augmented workflows to accelerate delivery and reduce cycle time; and contributing to a high-growth, collaborative, hybrid work environment in Tampa, FL. Must hold or be eligible for a TS/SCI clearance, live within driving distance to Tampa, and possess 6-10 years of cloud/platform operations experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Linux, and IA C tooling; degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience; strong client interaction and security posture for government projects.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance OR SCI eligibility
- Must live within commutable driving distance into Tampa, Florida several days per week (hybrid work)
- 6-10 years of experience in cloud/platform operations or related roles across diverse environments
- Proficiency in administering cloud environments (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Expertise in container orchestration, specifically Kubernetes
- Proficient use of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools, with a focus on Terraform
- Subject Matter Expertise in Linux Operating Systems administration
- Skilled in developing automation solutions using scripting languages
- Familiarity with networking concepts and practical experience involving technologies like Load Balancers, DNS, SSL, Firewalls, NAT, and NTP
- Proven ability to troubleshoot operating systems and applications effectively
- Experience handling large-scale production systems and adeptness in resolving production-related challenges
- Excellent communication skills, and a keen interest in collaborative work environments
- A degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to obtain a security clearance for US Government work
