Job Summary
Senior Platform Engineer role focused on evolving Beam Benefits' production platform and developer experience. Responsibilities include orchestrating agentic and generative AI to drive platform development and automation, collaborating with application teams to alleviate bottlenecks, designing and maintaining scalable platform infrastructure with high availability, participating in architectural discussions, adding design notes for non-trivial features, and mentoring engineers. Must have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong full-stack/backend capabilities (Ruby, React/TypeScript), experience with AWS services (ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3), and a track record of building scalable architectures, improving reliability, and advancing CI/CD practices. Strong problem-solving and communication skills, familiarity with agile practices, and a demonstrated ability to lead features end-to-end and drive adoption of tooling, while applying AI thoughtfully to improve efficiency and maintain system integrity. Location: Northern Ireland; UK right to work required.
