Job Summary
Senior Platform Engineer (DevOps / AWS) to join Aeroflow Health’s Product Delivery Platform Engineering team. Lead design and implementation of AWS infrastructure using IaC, build reusable cloud-native capabilities, and accelerate engineering delivery through optimized CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions). Enhance observability with Datadog, improve security and compliance (HIPAA/HITRUST), and partner with software engineers to remove operational friction while maintaining reliability and scalability. This role emphasizes developer enablement, platform engineering, and close collaboration with engineering teams in a hybrid work model, located near Asheville, NC or open to relocation. Key activities include building scalable infrastructure patterns, implementing secure-by-default patterns, maintaining auditability, and contributing to IAM, secrets management, and least-privilege practices while balancing speed and quality. The position requires strong AWS production experience, IaC proficiency, CI/CD expertise, observability capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to empower engineering teams to move faster with higher quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related disciplines
- Strong hands-on AWS experience in production environments
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform, SST, or similar technologies
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tooling
- Experience supporting cloud-native and serverless architectures
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, tracing, and observability solutions
- Strong troubleshooting and systems analysis skills across infrastructure, networking, deployment, and application layers
- Experience improving operational reliability through automation and standardization
- Experience with one or more modern programming languages such as TypeScript, Python, Node.js, or Go
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical stakeholders
- Must reside within reasonable commuting distance of Asheville, NC or be open to relocation
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, particularly during onboarding and initial team integration
