Job Summary
Senior Platform Engineer (AWS) at GotPhoto: design, build, and operate the cloud-native platform powering a global SaaS for photographers; elevate developer experience by reducing friction across the software development lifecycle; build reusable platform services, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and tooling; drive reliability with SLAs/SLOs and observability; enable AI-native engineering with MCP, AI tool integrations, and secure execution environments; champion security & IaC best practices, architect scalable AWS solutions, and mentor teams while collaborating across functions; hybrid/remote-friendly with a Berlin office hub and up to 40 days/year remote within Europe. Must have extensive AWS/Kubernetes/Terraform/Helm, observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana), and a platform-as-a-product mindset.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in Platform Engineering, SRE, Developer Experience, or a similar field
- Experience building and operating production systems in AWS
- Strong Infrastructure-as-Code and automation background
- Cloud & Platform Technologies: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm
- Observability & Reliability: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana
- Architecture & Systems Thinking: distributed systems, event-driven architectures, authentication/authorization models, infrastructure automation
- Developer Enablement: building tools and platforms to help engineers be more productive
