Job Summary
Greet donors at the center entrance and exit, perform venipuncture, and program the plasmapheresis machine while monitoring donor reactions and managing equipment setup, verification, and troubleshooting. Record vital signs including pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, perform finger sticks for hematocrit and protein testing, and enter donor data into the Donor Information System. Coordinate donors to the floor, compensate them using the Debit Card system, and assist with supply stocking and disposal. Support center management by identifying operational improvements through 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen initiatives. This part-time role requires 3+ days per week with shifts of 4 to 6 hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift
- Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
- Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
- Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
- Because of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1), 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear
Desired Qualifications
- 1 or more years minimum experience working in a customer or patient facing role is helpful
