Senior Plant Process Control Engineer

Job Summary
Execute best-in-class safety, process safety, and environmental performance across the design, construction, startup, and continued operation of the SAF production facility. Develop, configure, and optimize process control strategies for catalytic reactions, distillation, and heat transfer while managing control system hardware, firmware, and strategic spare parts inventory. Lead Management of Change activities, Root Cause Analyses, and commissioning efforts using Allen Bradley ControlLogix, FactoryTalk View, and PlantPAx systems. Provide mentoring to operators and junior engineers to enhance operational performance and troubleshoot instrumentation across the plant. Support a 24x7 chemical processing environment with up to 50% extended travel to operating sites.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or other applicable technical degrees
- 5+ years of industrial experience as a control engineer in chemical, petroleum refining/petrochemical, or other closely related industry
- Proficiency with Allen Bradley platforms and FactoryTalk software suite
- Strong understanding of process safety, control system lifecycle management, and project execution
- Demonstrated ability to lead investigations, implement improvements, and communicate technical information effectively (written and verbal)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
- Able to support a 24x7 chemical processing plant through design, construction, commissioning, and startup
- There will be occasions when significant extended travel is required to support our operating sites, with travel expectations of 50% or more
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with PlantPAx architectures, advanced process control (APC), and cybersecurity best practices is preferred
- Hands-on experience with VFDs, network infrastructure, and instrument calibration preferred
- Background in control system obsolescence management and automation reliability strategies preferred
- Experience in operation and troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems. Demonstrated experience with DCS and/or PLC systems
- Familiarity with control loop tuning, data historians, and interface with PLCs
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills including proficiency with both written and verbal technical communication
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, agile work environment
