Job Summary
As a Senior Planning Engineer/Hydraulic Modeler at Brown and Caldwell, you will perform water and wastewater system hydraulic modeling and analyses, evaluate potential improvements for system performance, and support master plan development. The role involves modeling for municipal utilities, updating and calibrating hydraulic models, analyzing flow trends, assessing distribution deficiencies, preparing feasibility studies, and managing projects within scope and budget. You will lead project teams, mentor junior staff, coordinate with clients, and prepare technical reports and presentations. Strong experience in hydraulic modeling and proficiency with relevant software tools are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering required
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in water hydraulic model development and calibration
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Valid drivers license and good driving record required
Desired Qualifications
- M.S. degree preferred
- PE license strongly preferred
- Experience with sewer collection infrastructure modeling and planning is preferred
- Proficiency with modeling, transient analyses, data management, and related software packages (e.g., InfoWater, InfoWorks, InfoSurge, WaterGEMS, WaterHAMMER, EPANET, EPA-SWMM, ArcGIS, Excel, Power BI)
