Job Summary
Senior Planner role within the Land Development Agency (Ireland) to lead spatial plans, masterplans and related workstreams across Ireland. Responsibilities include liaising with stakeholders, design teams and partners to deliver robust plans for compact urban growth and regeneration; identifying areas for future development and regeneration; progressing plans/masterplans and projects; conducting early-stage analysis, due diligence and feasibility; managing programmes for large-scale mixed-use sites; building partnerships with local authorities, landowners and stakeholders; procuring and managing design teams or technical studies; providing strategic thinking on urban planning and place-making; contributing to county development plans and policy submissions; procuring and managing budgets and payments; supporting public consultation; and ensuring compliance, value for money and timely progress. Requires a recognised Irish planning qualification, 10+ years experience, deep knowledge of the Irish planning system, strong communication and leadership skills, and a full driving licence.
Required Qualifications
- A recognised 3rd level (IPI or RTPI) planning qualification
- Minimum of 10 years professional/ post-qualification experience
- Full clean driving licence
- In depth understanding of the Irish Planning system, the Planning legislation, principles, practices and an ability to familiarise yourself with a changing planning environment
- Be a team player and a supportive and engaged colleague
- Be proactive and driven individual with a passion for regeneration, place-making, best practice urban design and sustainability
- Attention to detail in preparing reports, reviewing papers and reporting requirements
- Excellent communication/ presentation and interpersonal skills
- Management experience of staff / team/ multidisciplinary teams
