Senior Planner - Resiliency

Job Summary

Manage and coordinate stormwater management, flood mitigation, and resiliency projects, serving as County Project Manager for a regional initiative involving multiple municipalities and consultants. Conduct regulatory reviews of Water Quality and Wastewater Management Plan applications, including Sewer Service Area Amendments, and coordinate site-specific amendments with local, state, and regional agencies. Analyze flood mapping and modeling data to support climate adaptation strategies, while preparing technical reports and presenting findings at public meetings and stakeholder forums. Research environmental regulations and support grant writing and community engagement activities. Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, New Jersey Professional Planner license preferred, and minimum two years of experience in stormwater or climate resiliency. Starting salary $65,345–$70,000; Middlesex County residency preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Planning or a related field, including at least 21 semester credit hours in professional planning subjects
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in environmental planning, stormwater management, climate resiliency, or related fields

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Planning preferred
  • New Jersey Professional Planner (PP) license preferred
  • AICP certification preferred
  • Middlesex County residency preferred
