Job Summary
Develop level three programmes for work packages, tender purposes, and contractor submissions while reviewing detailed work schedules to ensure compliance with strategic programmes and work breakdown structures. Manage superstructures and envelope packages by producing logistics analysis, layouts, and commissioning schedules that coordinate works between packages and support measured baselines. Lead schedule reviews for contractor claims, monitor site progress against key milestones using Earned Value rules, and resource cost loading to generate accurate reports. Liaise continuously with the team, Project Managers, and sub-consultants to identify interface issues early and develop mitigation programmes. Report on time risk allowances, erosion due to events, and project data for the Planning Lead on the West Suffolk Hospital project within the Hospital 2.0 Alliance.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrable years' experience of project planning
- Experience on large (£100m plus) projects
- MAPM of formal PM/ planning qualification
- Experience in the hospital environment or Major Construction Programmes
- Proven ability to use IT systems and advanced Excel
- Relevant experience with various types of contracts and compiling documentation
- Experience of different techniques for project planning, risk management, cost control
- Knowledge of Primavera P6
- Knowledge of EVA techniques
- Knowledge of risk management processes and cost risk assessment
- Communication (written and verbal)
- Attention to detail
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with the team and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet key deadlines
- Ability to analyse problems and propose effective solutions
- Able to work collaboratively and lead a team
