Senior Planner - Citywide Planning
Job Summary
Senior Planner for Citywide Planning at City of San Antonio. Responsible for supervising a section within the Planning Department, conducting land use and zoning studies, updating the Comprehensive Plan, preparing reports for boards and public meetings, providing technical support to boards/committees, supervising staff, and coordinating development applications. Requires a Bachelor's degree, urban planning experience (including supervisory or lead work), strong writing and GIS/graphic design skills (ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite), public outreach experience, and a Texas Driver's License. Responsibilities include staff supervision, coordinating with city departments, presenting to the public, and guiding long-range planning efforts in a city-wide context.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Two (2) years increasingly responsible urban planning experience to include one (1) year of supervisory or lead work experience
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)
- MS Office experience
- Strong writing skills
- Adobe Creative Suite and graphic design experience
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS software and analysis
- Experience facilitating small and large work groups
- Experience with public outreach, goal development, and document preparation for comprehensive or regional planning projects
- Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License
