Senior Piping Engineer

Job Summary
Senior Piping Engineer responsible for conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of CANDU/Nuclear piping systems, including stress analyses (PipeStress, CaesarII, AutoPipe, LS DYNA), thermal and seismic analyses per ASME/CSA codes; prepare Design Change Packages and technical documentation; interface with clients, suppliers and design teams; lead small-to-large teams of designers and stress analysts; perform site visits and support field construction and commissioning activities; ensure QA compliance and regulatory requirements; possess a Mechanical Engineering degree and P.Eng license, with 10+ years of relevant experience in heavy industry and nuclear piping systems; proficiency in PipeStress, CaesarII, AutoPipe, MATLAB, MathCAD, ANSYS Mechanical, LS DYNA; strong communication and leadership skills.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering Degree (Mechanical)
- P.Eng license mandatory
- Minimum 10 years of related mechanical engineering experience in heavy industrial environments (nuclear, mining, oil & gas, power)
- Design engineering experience in nuclear class piping systems (1,2,3,6)
- Experience with PipeStress, CaesarII, AutoPipe, MATLAB, MathCAD, ANSYS Mechanical (APDL preferred or Workbench), LS DYNA
- Knowledge of CSA N285.0, CSA B51, CSA N289, ASME Section III and ANSI B31.1 (codes and standards)
- Willingness to perform site visits and field walk-downs; ability to lead technical packages
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW) consideration; willingness to become NEW not required
