Job Summary

Manage a varied caseload of postoperative orthopaedic and general musculoskeletal patients across pre-assessment and inpatient settings, collaborating to provide seamless care throughout the patient journey. Support the hospital's transition to a 7-day service and provide regular out-of-hours coverage for evening, weekend, and bank holiday shifts. Develop a specialist interest in upper limb and hand rehabilitation by working closely with orthopaedic consultants to assess and treat patients with range of conditions. Deliver in-service training and supervise junior or undergraduate staff while maintaining excellent clinical reasoning and communication skills. Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

  • A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Excellent clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively
  • A good understanding of CSP Standards of Physiotherapy Practice and the HCPC Rules of Professional Conduct
  • Evidence of commitment to ongoing CPD
  • Experience in managing a wide-ranging outpatient musculoskeletal caseload (including hands)
  • Confidence in delivering in-service training and supervising junior or undergraduate staff
  • You are a strong communicator
  • You are a confident IT user
  • Someone who thrives in a team environment where knowledge is shared
  • This position is subject to background and DBS checks
  • All successful candidates will be provided with safeguarding training appropriate to their role

Desired Qualifications

  • An interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, including upper limb and hand rehabilitation
  • An interest in upper limb and hand physiotherapy is desirable
  • You are passionate about helping patients recover, achieve, and maintain the best level of health and wellbeing
  • You are confident in delivering in-service training and supervising junior or undergraduate staff
