Job Summary
Lead the emergency and acute complex medicine physiotherapy team across Box Hill and Maroondah Hospitals, applying senior clinical decision-making to develop and support a team of Grade 1 & 2 physiotherapists, AHA’s and undergraduate students in an acute hospital environment. Drive clinical supervision and ongoing development of Grade 2 physiotherapists, participate in multidisciplinary initiatives (e.g., ACOP, GEDI projects), engage with senior leadership, and leverage opportunities for in-house professional development, post-graduate study, and involvement with Quality and Improvement and Allied Health Research. Includes mandatory vaccination considerations and a focus on education, leadership, and patient care within a public health service setting.
Required Qualifications
- Recognised tertiary qualification in relevant discipline
- Current registration Australian Physiotherapy Board
- Eligibility for Membership of Professional Association
- Relevant post graduate qualifications, or commencement thereof
- Extensive clinical experience in general medical and/ or emergency medicine physiotherapy
- Experience in supervision of staff and students
- Experience in leadership of staff, including professional development and supervision
- Experience in clinical education of staff and students
- Excellent team integration skills
- Sound knowledge of community organisations and networks
