Job Summary
Mesa Associates Inc. is seeking a Senior Physical Substation Engineer with extensive experience in substation design and QA/QC. The role involves developing equipment plans, control house layouts, grounding designs, and overseeing multiple projects while ensuring adherence to client standards. The candidate will mentor junior engineers, manage task assignments, and perform quality checks on design deliverables. A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience are required.
Required Qualifications
- At least 15 years of experience in substation design and/or QA/QC
- Ability to interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables
- Capable of coaching and mentoring Design Engineers
- Experience in performing independent quality checks on Physical Design Drawings
- Familiarity with SCE and Industry Standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD software
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with electrical physical design for substations from 4kV to 500kV
