Senior Physical Substation Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct physical substation design covering yard layouts, plans, sections, details, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, raceways, and auxiliary power systems. Prepare calculations for studies and reports, develop scopes of works, conceptual designs, and execution plans, while performing preliminary design and budgetary estimates. Check completed jobs for design adequacy and documentation accuracy, interpret complex plans to satisfy requirements, and maintain familiarity with engineering and construction codes. Oversee on-site design and investigation work for construction methods and act as Resident Engineer. Train and develop junior engineers. Requires B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 8-10 years of substation experience, PE license, and proficiency in Cape, Aspen Oneliner, and CDEGS. Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering
- 8-10 years of substation engineering experience
- Proficiency in Cape, Aspen Oneliner, CDEGS, and more
- Strong understanding and knowledge of industry and national codes pertaining to substation design
- Experience with CADD and Microsoft
- Ground grid design experience
- PE License (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
