Job Summary
Design, build, and scale core platform features including job distribution, direct apply integrations, and programmatic advertising tools. Take full ownership of major projects from architectural design to deployment, making independent strategic decisions that ensure scalability and reliability. Mentor and coach junior and mid-level developers through code reviews and constructive feedback while collaborating with product stakeholders and external partners. Champion clean code, modern development practices, and domain-driven design using PHP, Symfony, and MySQL. This initial 7-month contract includes a review for potential renewal. VONQ is a recognized HR Tech leader deploying AI screening capabilities live within global ecosystems.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive professional experience with PHP and MySQL in complex environments
- Deep knowledge of the Symfony framework
- Proven experience with building and scaling complex platforms, specifically dealing with high-volume data, job distribution, or programmatic advertising
- Highly skilled in advanced API design (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) and complex authentication mechanisms
- Strong soft skills with a natural ability to mentor and guide less experienced developers
- Knowledge of how to give constructive feedback and enjoy helping others grow
- A strategic and analytical mindset
- Fluent and comfortable communicating in both Dutch and English
- Ability to work fully remote
- Full-stack engineer who can confidently navigate both ends
