Senior PHP Engineer (Mexico)

Job Summary
Senior PHP Engineer to join Mexico expansion team, helping drive launch of a new mobile finance product. You will work with a cross-functional product team to understand MVP requirements, guide API behaviours through documented contracts with frontend teams, and collaborate with product stakeholders. Core tech: PHP 8+, Symfony/Laravel, AWS, PostgreSQL, Docker/Kubernetes; testing with Behat/PHPUnit; experience with Domain Driven Design, Event Sourcing, CQRS; comfortable in a startup-like environment with ownership and autonomy. Flexible work arrangements include hybrid or remote options; based in Europe or Mexico (willing to relocate to Mexico).
Required Qualifications
- Based either Europe or Mexico/willing to relocate to Mexico
- Strong English language skills (written and spoken)
- High degree of ownership and autonomy
- Strong PHP development experience (PHP 8.0+)
- Fluent in PHP framework (Symfony or Laravel)
- Experience with Domain Driven Design, Message-Driven Systems, Event Sourcing and CQRS
- Excellent automated testing skills (unit, integration, functional)
