Job Summary
Shoot video and audio for all platforms, edit feeds and live shots, and lead the daily operations of the news photography team. Serve as the primary point of contact for technical and equipment matters, managing cameras, live units, lighting, and audio gear while maintaining organized workflows. Provide guidance and troubleshooting support during breaking news and monitor public safety radio communications to coordinate crew deployment. Mentor photographers and develop improved communication systems to enhance efficiency across the newsroom.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of six years' experience as a Photojournalist in medium/major market television
- The ability to multitask and manage time to put together an exciting and informative newscast
- Flexibility and on-the-spot problems solving abilities
- Must be highly proficient both in English and Spanish
- Must possess high ethical and journalistic standards
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
- Detail oriented with ability to work with tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of final cut pro, adobe premiere, and file transfer protocols
- Self-initiative to stay up to date with new and emerging technologies and methods
- Experience in a leadership role
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Valid CA Driver's license with good driving record
- Ability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Able to carry, lift, and handle equipment of 50-pounds or more for prolonged periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- BA/BS preferred in Journalism/Mass Communications or equivalent experience
