Job Summary
Compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions, maintains drug inventory and stock control systems, and uses computers to enter, access, or retrieve patient data and medication profiles. Coordinates departmental quality assurance with supervisory staff, audits maintenance of additional assignments, and exercises latitude in determining objectives and approaches. Leads resolution of day-to-day challenges, mentors others, and supports the development and implementation of new processes. Ensures policies and procedures are followed while adhering to state laws and regulations. Requires two years of experience as a pharmacy technician including leading work guidance to others.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or general education diploma (GED)
- Associate's degree
- Two years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Experience leading and providing work guidance to others
- Annual registration as a Pharmacy Technician through the State Board of Pharmacy in state(s) of practice
- Multi-state privileges as required by position
- Completion of required hours of Pharmacy Technician continuing education
- National certification by an accredited technician certification board (PTCB or NHA)
- Active/current pharmacy technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy
- Completion of a formal technician training program (Minnesota)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) prior to hire (Minnesota)
- Active licensure in North Dakota
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the SD Board of Pharmacy within 30 days from the date of hire
- Certification for advanced roles in South Dakota (immunizations, Remote Pharmacy, or other advanced functions as approved per the Board)
