Job Summary
Fill and dispense unit dose and stock medications to nursing units and ancillary departments, triaging patient orders and maintaining automated dispensing system integrity. Manage oral and IV medication workflows with advanced knowledge in two or more specialty pharmacy areas. Requires Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician license or PTCB certification, plus two years of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system. Full-time variable shift at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Oregon Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician
- Oregon Pharmacy Technician License
- 2 years Minimum of 2 years (> 4160 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and PTCB certification
- 3 years (> 6240 hours) hospital pharmacy if technician does not have PTCB certification
- Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs)
- Previous experience with electronic health records (EHR)
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program
- Advanced PTCB certificate (e.g., compounded sterile products, advanced certified pharmacy technician, medication history certificate, controlled substances)
- Specialty certification (e.g. ACPE approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state
