Senior Petroleum Engineering Technician

Job Summary
Prepare engineering data and financial materials for analysis, manage the secure transfer of confidential files and reserves databases between RBC and clients, and analyze complex engineering reports to create internal lending models. Support engineers with technical adjustments to databases and running economic scenarios, while creating and updating engineering models including variance tables and hedge spreadsheets. Generate pricing data from financial sites to support management in creating global oil and gas price decks for reserves-based lending evaluations. This role involves collaborating with professional engineers, internal stakeholders across Group Risk Management, Corporate Banking, and Investment Banking, as well as external lending syndicate partners.
Required Qualifications
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access)
- Highly proficient in reserves economics software (i.e. ValueNavigator, Aries, Mosaic, PDHWin)
- Ability to take initiative to do what it takes and manage to tight deadlines during semi-annual peak periods
- Experience handling complex assignments requiring deep financial analysis and problem-solving skills
- Ability to connect reserves evaluations to corporate performance
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with teammates to deliver results
- Solid understanding of various hedge instruments and their applications in risk management
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with geological software programs (geoSCOUT)
