Job Summary
Senior Environmental Permitting Consultant to join the UK & Ireland EHS Team. Deliver Environmental Permit applications, variations, transfers, and surrenders across the UK and Ireland; conduct environmental risk assessments; advise on legislation and BAT; perform environmental audits and reviews; contribute to business development and client relationships; mentor junior team members; flexible in terms of base location with hybrid working (Chesterfield, Manchester or Nottingham). Focus on environmental permitting, compliance, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement within a leading global infrastructure and environmental consultancy.
Required Qualifications
- A base first degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering or science discipline
- Demonstrable experience in an industrial or consultancy role
- Strong track record delivering Environmental Permitting compliance services and preparing associated documentation
- Extensive working knowledge of relevant UK National and European environmental legislation
- Excellent report writing, technical reviewing, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team across projects with tight deadlines
- Proactive, positive attitude with strong team collaboration skills
- Confident in liaising with colleagues, industrial clients, and regulators
