Job Summary
Senior Operations Permit Compliance Manager responsible for environmental permit compliance across wind, solar, and battery storage projects nationwide. Manage third-party contractors, coordinate with jurisdictional agencies, obtain or amend permits, ensure post-construction studies and habitat monitoring meet regulatory requirements, and support project turnover from Construction to Operations. Travel ~30%+. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Environmental Sciences or related field, 5+ years of energy project compliance experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, and knowledge of major environmental laws and permitting processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Policy, Wildlife, Project Management or comparable areas of study
- At least 5 years' experience in energy project compliance and environmental review
- Experience with United States environmental permitting regulations for complex renewable energy projects
- Experience working with permitting jurisdictions, agencies, and regulators (state, local, federal)
- Understanding of Endangered Species Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, Clean Water Act
- Domestic travel approximately 30%+

- Experience with wildlife-related permits and regulatory negotiations

- Experience with compliance management software and SAP
- Experience in large-scale construction projects
- Experience obtaining permits for operational plants for maintenance, repowering, or risk management (e.g., Section 404, Incidental Take Permits)
- Knowledge of Endangered Species Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, Clean Water Act
