Senior Performance Testing & Diagnostics Engineer

Job Summary
Lead thermal performance testing strategies for gas, steam, or combined cycle power plants, including day-to-day technical supervision of testing activities and quality control of deliverables. Direct analysis of complex test data, root cause analysis, and performance optimization initiatives while ensuring effective coordination of multi-event testing programs. Develop field performance test strategies based on contract requirements and commercial guarantees, proactively mitigating technical and performance risks. Serve as a recognized technical authority in instrumentation, DAQ systems, and thermodynamic modeling, providing peer reviews of field test data and guiding less experienced engineers. Balance process standards with customer and project objectives to protect commercial interests, communicating complex engineering risks to executive stakeholders. Lead the team in driving compliance with company policies, championing safety and operational excellence, and fostering continuous learning across global Gas Power stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of industry experience in the areas of thermal performance modeling, field testing or thermal evaluation
- Ability to travel extensively in support of global assignments
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, thermodynamic systems (Combined Cycles), and thermodynamic cycles as they relate to gas turbines, steam turbines, and HRSG's
- Fluency in English language
- Eligibility Requirement: Applicants must have the legal right to work in Bahrain without company sponsorship or time restrictions
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in thermal performance testing
- Advanced knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition system installation and operation
- Advanced understanding of control system instrumentation, calibration, and performance impact
- Advanced understanding of turbine design and operating philosophy
- Expertise in thermodynamic modeling and performance analysis
- Strong computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel and programming capabilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Expertise in data reduction and reconciliation analysis
- Experience working in cross-functional environments
- Extensive experience working with customers and presenting to varied audiences
- Knowledge of Gas Power business models
- Self-starter with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and development
- Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
- Communicates clearly, concisely, and professionally
- Proven ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
