Job Summary
Senior Perception Engineer at Teleo (a Havoc company) building perception algorithms and architecture for autonomous heavy machinery on construction/mining sites. Responsibilities include re-using and extending existing perception algorithms for Teleo’s operational domain, training models as the domain evolves, developing auto-annotation/auto-labeling tools using state-of-the-art methods (including VLM-based labeling), defining evaluation protocols aligned with on-ground performance, driving active learning to select data, and integrating tightly with MLOps for continuous deployment. The role emphasizes multi-modal perception (camera, LiDAR, radar), and work across hardware, software, robotics, and AI to enable safe operations of 100,000-pound autonomous robots. Core responsibilities also cover adapting perception methods from AV contexts, model retraining, and building robust, production-ready ML systems.
