Senior Pension Administrator

Job Summary
Serve as the primary operational and technical contact for Defined Benefit pension administration, interpreting issues, agreeing solutions, and ensuring timely delivery for clients, Trustees, and members. Engage directly with Scheme Administrators, consultants, and stakeholders to explain benefit, data, or process queries while drafting clear member communications and updating meeting packs on operational performance. Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes, validate deliverables against rigorous quality controls, and mentor junior colleagues to foster knowledge sharing. Collaborate across multiple teams including Global Centres of Capability to drive efficiency and improve client experience within Aon Ireland's Defined Benefit team.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent understanding of Defined Benefit pensions, including scheme benefits and administration
- Previous experience in DB pension scheme administration
- Experience in a closely related DB pension operations role
- Experience with Public Sector model schemes is preferable
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to draft engaging client and member communications
- High attention to detail
- Thorough way of reviewing and validating work
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured, organized way
- Proven track record to build strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, Trustees and third-party providers
- Proven track record of driving greater efficiency in processes
- Ability to suggest and implement improvements
- Ability to communicate the client impact
- Strong IT skills
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint
- This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work virtually from our Dublin or Cork
