Senior Payments Ops Specialist

Job Summary
Authorise and process domestic and international payments across multiple rails including SWIFT, ACH, SEPA, and RTGS while ensuring adherence to cut-off times and service level agreements. Investigate and resolve payment exceptions, rejected transactions, and operational issues to maintain accurate execution. Monitor account balances and funding requirements to support liquidity management activities and collaborate with Treasury and Finance teams on cash movement. Operate within maker-checker controls, escalate operational risks, and support audit and compliance requirements. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through reporting, data analytics, and automation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 4–7 years' experience in Payment Operations, Banking Operations, Treasury Operations, or Financial Services
- Strong understanding of cross-border and multi-currency payment processing
- Experience working with payment approvals and banking platforms
- Good understanding of payment rails including SWIFT, ACH, SEPA, FPS, NEFT, RTGS, IMPS and Direct Debits
- Experience managing payment exceptions and operational investigations
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Excellent attention to detail and operational discipline
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline
- Valid passport
- Willingness to travel internationally if required
Desired Qualifications
- Professional qualifications in Payments, Treasury, Banking, or Financial Services
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Omni, or similar reporting and analytics platforms
- Exposure to automation, workflow tools, and AI-enabled operational processes
- Experience within FinTech, FX, Payments, Banking, or Treasury environments
- Experience supporting global operations across multiple jurisdictions
