Job Summary
Manage 24/7/365 payment operations for Bacs, FPS, ICS, and Managed Services by executing daily tasks, monitoring supplier performance, and acting as an escalation point for operational incidents. Support crisis management, incident response, and post-incident activities while overseeing settlement and cap processes, including contingency actions. Analyze payments data to produce reports for senior leadership and assist with onboarding/off-boarding documentation. Contribute to change initiatives and customer committees as requested. This role ensures the integrity of the UK's retail payment ecosystem, supporting the single operator for all UK retail payments.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in complex payment operations within a heavily regulated financial services or banking environment
- Operational knowledge of Bacs, FPS, ICS and Reference Data
- Effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening)
- Highly organised, methodical and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Proficient risk awareness, with the ability to identify operational risks, limitations, and opportunities
- Open-minded, pragmatic and solutions‐focused, with the willingness to adopt new approaches and work effectively in a matrix environment
- Effective coordination and negotiation skills
- Technical and business acumen relevant to payments and operational environments
