Senior Payments Engineer - 60895972903

Senior Payments Engineer responsible for architecting a next-generation payments platform. Own the payments stack from ground up, designing a gateway abstraction across multiple processors, building robust card authorization, settlement, tokenization, and recurring-billing infrastructures, and ensuring PCI DSS compliance. Lead platform architecture and design for intelligent routing to optimize authorization rates, cost, latency, and risk. Integrate with processors via native APIs (e.g., Adyen, Stripe), manage end-to-end payment lifecycle, and build fault-tolerant, scalable systems with observability, on-call playbooks, and strong security/risk controls. Collaborate with product, risk, and operations to translate business requirements into technical specifications, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and contribute to vendor decisions for processors and gateways. This is a remote, senior individual-contributor role focused on greenfield infrastructure, with direct impact on the core technical foundation of a rapidly growing payments business.
