Job Summary
The Senior Paving Construction Inspector will oversee multiple types of urban and rural pavement rehabilitation or preservation projects with values ranging from $1-$25 million. Responsibilities include interfacing with contractors, mentoring other inspectors, completing daily reports, coordinating material sampling and testing, and monitoring traffic maintenance. The role requires strong communication skills, ability to interpret technical documents, and adherence to workplace safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 9 years applicable experience
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field.
- NETTCP HMA certifications, or ability to attain within 3-months of hiring.
- Average proficiency with MS WORD Suite.
- Hands-on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar systems.
- Knowledge of Bluebeam.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills.
