Job Summary
Senior Paving Construction Inspector to oversee asphalt shimming, milling, reclaiming, filling, compacting, drainage improvements, striping and related items on urban/rural pavement rehabilitation/preservation projects valued $1–$25M. Based in Waterbury, VT, reporting to the Resident Engineer with potential to act as their representative. Responsibilities include interfacing with contractors, mentoring or supervising other inspectors, completing daily reports and quantity calculations, coordinating material sampling/testing, monitoring maintenance of traffic, and documenting progress with photos. Requires 9 years of applicable experience, a High School Diploma, valid driver's license, and strong communication. Preferred qualifications include Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management, NETTCP HMA certifications, construction-management software proficiency (Site/Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD, Bluebeam), and demonstrated supervisory skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 9 years applicable experience
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications
- Have a valid driver's license
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by company policies
- Ability to exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct
Desired Qualifications
- Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field
- NETTCP HMA certifications, or ability to attain within 3-months of hiring
- Average proficiency with MS WORD Suite
- Hands-on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar systems
- Knowledge of Bluebeam
- Demonstrated supervisory skills
- Any combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications and experience will be considered
