Job Summary
Conduct patient evaluations to obtain information for treatment plans and maintain knowledge of medical symptoms to identify urgency. Ensure patients have access to insurance and social service programs while acting as a liaison between patients, physicians, and staff to resolve barriers to care. Provide patient reminders for upcoming appointments and educate patients on health issues, payment policies, and required ancillary services. Manage Progeny website access and troubleshoot login issues, while running monthly reports on patient volumes and coverage status. Assist lower-level navigators and build partnerships with local community physicians and referral sources to support the UHealth systems.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
- Must be able to route communications to the appropriate persons
- Must have strong computer skills
- Must be able to be redirected as needed for cross coverage and emergent tasks
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
