Job Summary
Senior Patient Access Specialist responsible for admitting duties for all patients, accurate MRN assignment, eligibility and insurance verification, and POS collections with emphasis on patient service and compliance. Role includes developing training materials, scheduling staff, providing after-hours on-call coverage, and ensuring accurate documentation, ABN processing, and patient education distribution. Requires familiarity with ABN software, medical terminology or CPT codes, and a proactive approach to improving revenue cycle processes and patient experience. The role supports a broad set of revenue cycle activities across emergency, outpatient, and inpatient settings, and contributes to audits, compliance, and overall performance metrics. Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or Equivalent Experience
- 1-3 years experience in revenue cycle/patient access
- Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology
- CPT or procedure codes knowledge
- Ability to develop training materials and programs for new hires
- On-call and after-hours support ability
