Job Summary
Conduct sales negotiations and proposal discussions with small-scale legal entities to maximize revenue growth for Mercari Shops. Execute and continuously improve support mechanisms based on initial client interviews, driving new account launches and retention. Manage sales progress metrics and validate, expand, and scale AI-driven strategies to accelerate business performance. Make critical resource allocation decisions across segments and tactics based on data-driven hypotheses to drive hypergrowth. Leverage the group's 23 million monthly user base and cross-functional assets like Mercari Pay to deliver integrated value propositions. Requires Japanese proficiency (C1), 7+ years in B2B sales for intangible goods, and experience designing sales systems from scratch.
Required Qualifications
- Japanese language ability
- Proficient Japanese (CEFR – C1)
- Independent English (CEFR – B2)
- Corporate sales experience via phone calls and negotiations for intangible products (IT, advertising, consulting) for more than 7 years
- Experience formulating hypotheses and executing strategies based on numerical and factual data
- Experience promoting smooth coordination and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders while achieving high sales results
- Ability to enjoy the pace of change and speed typical of the IT industry/startups/ventures
- Intermediate level or higher proficiency in Excel or spreadsheets (including VLOOKUP, IF, Pivot, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing a small team (minimum 3 members)
- Experience designing and executing business efficiency improvements or strategy scaling using AI or similar technologies
- Experience supporting and growing small-scale legal business operators
- Experience independently designing and improving sales or operational systems and models
- Experience in data analysis and visualization using SQL or BI tools
