Job Summary
Senior Paralegal (USAO) support for US Attorney's Office with litigation support, discovery, motion/briefform preparation, deposition transcripts, case file management, and document review. Role involves compiling materials for attorneys, summarizing transcripts, maintaining case files, researching legal questions, creating cross-references for exhibits, and assisting in court. Requires paralegal certificate or JD or active ABA-law studies (with at least one year completed), 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience (including 1 year automated litigation support), strong knowledge of court procedures and legal research tools (LEXIS/Westlaw), proficiency with Relativity and related software, and US citizenship per DOJ MBI requirements. Preferably familiar with eDiscovery workflows, Relativity, ACEDS/Relativity certifications, and related training; salary governed by SCA with minimum hourly wage of $31.00, translated to annualized compensation. Location: Detroit, MI, USA; travel up to 10% locally.
Required Qualifications
- paralegal certificate or JD or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year of study or equivalent legal training/experience
- at least 2 years of litigation paralegal experience including 1 year in automated litigation support
- sound knowledge of federal and state court system
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
- hands-on familiarity with Relativity, Excel, JEFS/Box.com, Word, Zoom, Teams, PowerPoint, and social media tools
- ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure
- DOJ MBI must be obtainable (US citizenship required)
