Job Summary
Coordinate transactional closing documentation, board approvals, and entity creation for private equity, credit, real estate, and venture capital strategies. Manage a high volume of Know Your Client (KYC) requests, coordinate post-closing integration, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements for corporate filings across Canada and Quebec. Maintain accurate corporate governance data, manage share certificates, and support quarterly structure updates and shareholder meetings. Optimize legal operations through process improvement, automation, and the deployment of AI and legal technology tools like Athennian. Provide daily support to Legal Affairs, Investments, Finance, and Compliance teams within a global multi-strategy asset management firm.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma of College Studies in Paralegal Technology or a degree in a relevant field
- At least ten years of experience in a corporate legal department and/or a law firm
- Strong experience supporting corporate governance, legal entity management, corporate filings and transactional matters
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple KYC requests, coordinating transaction documentation and responding effectively to requests from internal stakeholders
- Excellent organizational, communication, relationship-building and multitasking skills
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality are critical
- A continuous improvement mindset and enthusiasm for technology-enabled legal operations
- Experience with legal entity management software and related platforms, such as Athennian, Visio, Carta or similar tools
- Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written
- English language proficiency
