Job Summary
Conduct first-pass redlines on incoming contracts and agreements while managing day-to-day legal department workflows with minimal oversight. Track key contract dates, obligations, and renewals; maintain and update contract templates and playbooks as needed. Flag substantive legal issues or risks to the General Counsel and liaise with internal stakeholders to keep deals moving efficiently. Assist with ad hoc legal projects as they arise. This role requires significant experience as a contracts-focused paralegal in a fast-paced startup environment, with compensation of $145,000 - $180,000. You will work remotely with occasional travel to our San Francisco office.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience as a contracts-focused paralegal (transactional, not litigation)
- Demonstrated ability to draft and redline commercial contracts independently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment
- Sound judgment in distinguishing substantive legal issues from routine matters
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Prior in-house experience, ideally at a startup
- Experience building or maintaining contract templates/playbooks
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Excel, Slack, and similar tools is a plus
